Iron Nest is single-player. You are the lone operator of a colossal war machine — there is no co-op, no online mode, and no multiplayer at launch.

This surprises a lot of players, because the game looks like it could support a crew (multiple stations, a gunner, a loader, a fire controller). But in the current version, you do all of those jobs yourself, walking between stations.

What About Co-op?

The question “is Iron Nest multiplayer” is one of the most-searched, and the answer right now is a clear no. The game is built around a single operator running the entire six-step firing loop alone.

Multiplayer on the Roadmap

The developers have signaled that multiplayer is part of the post-launch roadmap, alongside free updates and an expansion. However:

  • No date has been confirmed.
  • The details (co-op crew? competitive?) have not been announced.
  • This is a “planned, not dated” situation — don’t buy expecting multiplayer today.

What to Play Instead

If you want the crew experience today, it’s a solo simulation: you rotate between the map table, calculator, loader, and trigger yourself. It’s a single-player loop by design — and a very demanding one.
