The 4 Endings

Iron Nest has four endings, all decided in the final mission “White Shells”, where the target city is Barcelona.

Ending Achievement Shell Effect
Peace A City in Celebration STAR / SMK / PRPG (non-lethal) Hit = peace
Submission A City Subdued TEAR / PHGN / WP / CYAN (chemical) The city submits
Destruction A City Silent Any lethal shell (HE, AP, APHE, HCHE, INCN, DRIL, LE, PCLM, THRM, EQKE) or ATMC The city is wiped out
Betrayal The Road Not Taken APHE on your own side + destroy the counter-battery You turn on High Command instead of the city

The Final Firing Configuration

For the city-targeting endings, a widely-circulated firing solution is:

  • Spawn point: A1:0
  • Aim point: L5, northwest corner of the city
  • Bearing: 66°
  • Range: 12 km
  • Charges: 6
  • Elevation: 24°

This specific configuration comes from a single source (prodigygamers). The elevation is consistent with the formula (12 km × 12 ÷ 6 charges = 24°), so it checks out — but treat the exact bearings/aim point as a “guide value”, not an official number.

The Betrayal Route

Betrayal is the hardest ending because you defect mid-mission:

  • The quartermaster locks, you can’t move, and the counter-battery timer runs.
  • Reported loadout (single source): 1× ATMC + 5–7 recon + 4–6 APHE + 1–3 HCHE + ≥25 charges.
  • Nuclear target: D5 3:5; High Command at B4.

Buy everything first — once you defect, you can’t resupply.

Order of Operations

  1. Decide the ending before the final mission, then buy the right shells.
  2. Don’t mix non-lethal and lethal — PRPG/STAR fired first locks in Peace.
  3. For Betrayal, stock up, then defect, and destroy the counter-battery before the timer runs out.
